Why should I choose PHP for my project?

We at Practical Handiman Plus, LLC strive to be the most admired and well-respected handyman/small job service provider in the Charlotte Metro region. Our objective is to meet your needs with courteous and competent service.   

What types of work/service does PHP provide?

HOWEVER, Practical Handiman Plus can handle anything you can think of, that’s why we say: “From Floor to Ceiling, inside and out, it’s the Practical Handiman you can’t do without.”   So, whether it’s the usual, the unusual or the unexpected, our team can handle it. What general locations do you service?

Presently, we serve the South Charlotte Metro region, generally from the Park Rd. corridor over to Independence Blvd. in the following zip codes:  28270, 28210, 28211, 28209, 28207, 28226, 28203, 28204, 28205, 28105, 28277, as well as the Center City corridor. We will service other areas on a case by case basis, but the above areas are our main focus.

Can I get a free estimate?

We put our eyeballs on everything, no matter how large or small the project may seem.  There is NO charge for our estimates.

Do I have to be present when the work is being performed?

NO, it is NOT necessary for you to be present when the work is being performed.  PHP and it's trade partners provide you with piece of mind projects so that you may continue on with your daily routines and life with minimal disruptions or distractions. We may however request that you make yourself available to us at the appropriate time(s) so that we can verify things like your product selections or locations and heights of certain hardware, etc.  Otherwise, carry on about your day or week or vacation plans as we will work out all the access arrangements with temporary security codes and secure lock boxes with a house key for safe and secure access to your home or office.

Can I get some references?

We are happy to provide you with a current list of our customers or trade partners.  

Do you charge travel time or trip fees?

We do not charge travel time or trip fees.

What are your working hours?  Do you provide services after hours?

We operate Monday through Friday from 8:00AM till 5:00PM.  Our automated call director is set up for after hours and emergency calls. Unless there is an extenuating circumstance or an emergency, PHP does NOT work on weekends. We are certainly willing to go the extra mile and will do our best to accommodate anyone’s request for service.

Who provides the materials?

We would love to be able to handle all the materials and supplies for you, but the reality is, is this is not always the case. You may have some of your own contractors, designers or resources for materials that you would like to use.  This is certainly fine, but since PHP acts as the project manager for the entire project, we would like to know these people/resources so that we can make sure that all the details of your project get proper attention and schedules and budgets stay on track.  Sometimes our customers will direct pay for certain portions of their projects to help save money.

What if I want to make some changes halfway through my project?

Almost every job will have a change to be made.  “Oh, while you’re here, would you mind . . . or do you know anybody who can . . .?”  Changes and additional work happen.  Changes will be authorized in writing and signed off by both parties prior to implementing the change order.  All change orders will be paid in full prior to implementing the requested change.   

What warranties or guarantees does PHP provide?

All we have is our reputation.  That is why we go the extra mile to use high quality sealants, vapor barriers and waterproof membranes, pay attention to flashing details and pre-prime all exterior wood products on all surfaces prior to installation.  Although we strive for perfection, we are not perfect.  We shall always, always operate with honesty and integrity and stand behind our work to the best of our abilities.  We take pride in our work to minimize callbacks as we get paid to do it right the first time. We furnish a full warranty on our materials and workmanship for a period of one full year following the receipt of final payment.  All newly purchased appliances, devices and hardware are covered under separate manufacturer’s individual warranties. We shall defer to these warranties where applicable.
